This route can be undertaken in all snow conditions as it does not present any major mountaineering difficulties or extreme gradients.
However, it is always advisable to consult the snow and weather bulletins on the website www.meteotrentino.it and contact the local branch of the Italian Alpine Club (SAT) in Pergine for updated information on snowpack.

Palù del Fersina
The starting point is Palù del Fersina, a small town located at the top of the valley, which encompasses a series of farms. The valley’s main town, it is little more than a hamlet and home to the Mocheno Cultural Institute.
The route, thanks to excellent snow conditions, starts from the hairpin bend just below Palù del Fersina; the first part of the climb is on a comfortable forest road and then emerges into the meadows below the Erdemolo mine near the statue of the miner.

From here you cross a wooden bridge and head towards the right orographic side, climbing the Prun canyon to the amphitheatre under the Sasso Rosso; heading south you continue to the Cornelle pass.

From here, a pleasant ski run (the slope faces north and there’s always powder or slightly transformed snow) and then a skinning back up to the Hoamonder peak.
Then descent through the Prun canyon and following the route.
